I use Wordpress for my web design projects and as most of you know a great advantage of this is the massive range of plug-ins that are available. I have been working with Wordpress for some time now and seem to use a few of them quite often so I thought I would follow Mike Jolleys lead and make a shortlist of my top 10 favourite Wordpress plug-ins;
At the recent SXSW web design conference Andy Budd and Jeremy Keith showcased a panel called “Learn how to bluff your way into Web 2.0″. It was a great demo and I am so happy to see other developers mocking web 2.0. Theres a ironic twist to their relentless mockings and I agree completely that its time to kill the term “web 2.0″. Great News, designbit has been featured on Web Designing Magazine. A fantastic publication that supplies up-to-date web design news and showcases great design using tutorials and detailed breakdowns to help web designers improve their skills and to showcase their great work.
Sometimes I find myself having daydreams and awake from them with mathematical equations or genius web design ideas, well this time I awoke with a half baked idea of what browsers could be like in 2010. I know what your thinking “oh god here he goes again”!
I have had to question my view on laying out design’s with elastic layouts using the measurement Em’s, Elastic websites that zoom in or out with the text size have always been somewhat of the Holy Grail for me as far as layouts are concerned, and I think a lot of web designers agree with me. But is the extra torment and toil to make your design’s elastic worth the hassle if web browsers including Internet Explorer are supporting the new zoom feature?
I just wanted to highlight the latest release of blog and publishing extraordinaire Wordpress to the public; Ella 2.1, Named after the famous Jazzer Ella Fitzgerald. I think its a great update and my website installation / upgrade was flawless. There’s some extra features added and some major holes in PHP that have been plugged.
