Hyperlinks and SEO

I am not an SEO (Search Engine Optimization) specialist and never will be, I enjoy creating the full web design package, from code upwards. I do however boast some decent results for some keywords in Googly and I owe this mainly to hyperlinks. A simple technique that keeps my web design blog near the top of google, it’s not a breakthrough technique but do I get more visitors directly from Googly then ever before.

Is SEO Sleazy and unethical?

From a usability perspective, designing a website to be read by a search engine will inevitably lead to poor readability and usability. SEO seems like a way of hacking away at the structure of your website and implementing keyword schemes and accepting reciprocal links from companies and individuals that you wouldn’t touch with a ten foot barge pole in real life. Sounds kind of sleazy to me.
