Personality is a selling point that you should express, not the collecting magazines under your bed part, but the nice; funny, polite and interesting parts.

    It’s absolutely vital that the customer feels they can work with you, and that is all about your personality. Once you are in communication with a prospective client you have already got the deal, you can only lose it at that point!

    I’ve been to a few networking events where some developers have shyed away from mingling with the crowd. Having that confidence to meet and greet potential clients is as important (if not moreso) than your actual web design skills.
